The second-annual World Series of Mahjong was held from September 18 to 21, 2008 in
Macau at the fabulous Wynn Macau hotel and casino.

A total of 302 players from 15 different countries participated in the tournament, competing
in two separate events, a US$1,000 buy-in Reach/Riichi Rules Event, and the US$1.0 million
prize purse Main Event played under the WSOM Rules System®.

The Reach/Riichi Event took place on Thursday, September 18th and was won by Tokyo
native Mr. Daishiro Otsubo.

The Main Event started on Friday, September 19 and took place over three days, ending late
in the evening of Sunday, September 21. The championship went to Mr. Alex Ho from Hong
Kong. Alex is a 34-year old executive with AIA Insurance in Hong Kong. He won with an overall point total of 180.38.

In addition to receiving a check for US$500,000 Alex received the champion’s necklace,
custom-made for the World Series of Mahjong by famous Hong Kong jewelry designers
Steela+Steelo.

Second and third places were taken, respectively, by Hong Kong players, Mr. Kam Wing
Tong , and Mr. Ho Nam Lam. Forth place was won by Mr. Shigeru Aono of Osaka, Japan.
